Shafiullah Hotak has called Sacramento home since 2014. His story is rooted in service, resilience, and helping people build a place in their community.
From 2006 to 2014, he worked alongside the U.S. military in Afghanistan. After moving to Sacramento, he continued serving through community volunteer work and helping newcomers navigate life in their new home.
A March 2025 report from the Rotary Club of Arden Arcade described his work as a program manager with Lao Family Community Development and his interest in local soccer programs.
Now, he is running for the Fulton–El Camino Recreation & Park District Board to help keep parks safe, welcoming, and accessible to everyone.
